A New Beginning!

Image
Changes! I love changes! I love cutting my hair, moving somewhere new every 3 months (-ish), reorganizing, purging, trying new places to eat, and all that jazz. I just love it. This blog has had a few different looks over the past few years but now I feel like it's time for another revamp! You'll have noticed the name change. Ryan and I have talked about creating an Instagram account for a few months now and have finally made it happen! We wanted to get more involved in an RV community that we could "travel with" and I think we've found it online. We've already gotten tons of location ideas from them and are looking forward to all the new adventures! This blog will kind of be linked to the Instagram. You might see Ryan on here from time to time - that's the only real change to any of the posts. Ha. "The Traveling Kind" is a song by Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell and it really resonated with us. I'm 99% sure Ryan cried the first time we...

Settling in Nashville

Image
Wow y'all, what a crazy, stressful, difficult 8 weeks. The whole traveling thing is pretty dang great most of the time, but let me tell ya, it's handed us our hineys (not a word I guess) . We LOVE living in our new home but it has been a HUGE learning curve. That, along with an unplanned month off, car trouble in OKC, a dead smoking car in Little Rock, and then having to trade in said dead car and buy new used car from 5 hours away has completely maxed out my stress-o-meter. We finally arrived in Nashville the day before I was supposed to start. As it would turn out I didn't get the call to start until Thursday at noon and I went in that night for my first shift. I haven't worked nights in about three years and am driving the night shift struggle bus. The shift itself at the hospital is fine. My mind and body just do not deal. I'm surviving (I realize this is a first world problem, yes I'm thankful I have a job) but I'm sure Ryan would appreciate all the p...

Tiny Living Dreams Come True

Image
Y'all. If you've been following our travel adventures for a little over year, you might remember all the drama with our tiny house/RV. If not let me catch you up here  and  here . The latter link has all the drama. I went back and read through it for the first time and dang, all those emotions came right back up. That whole process scarred me for life. Looking back, we learned so much even if it was pretty sucky, but it really helped us in the long run. After our huge disappointment last year, it took us a while to get back into finding the perfect tiny living situation for us. We would talk about it off and on and probably within the last month we started seriously considering going the RV route again. Initially, Ryan was wanting to see if we could find a trailer we could tow with our Escape. But after a couple of mildly disappointing realizations (the lighter trailers don't have toilets or showers, no thanks), we started to entertain the idea of getting a motorhome again....
