Adios, Texas! Hello, Nevada!

If you're looking for me after February 18th, you can find me belly up at the $5 blackjack tables downtown! 😆 Yep! That's right, we're headed back out west for my next assignment at Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas. Then, booking it back outta there before the heat settles in. We've LOVED getting to spend so much time with our family and friends. Some we haven't spend considerable time with in  a couple years. Leaving Texas always comes with sadness but we're so excited for our next adventure. Since we've been to Las Vegas before we're going to do our best to get out and do things we didn't get to do before. Things on the must-see list of Vegas 2.0 include Seven Magic Mountains, Lake Mead Recreational Area, Hoover Dam (I know, how did we miss this the first time?!), Valley of Fire State Park, Death Valley, maaaaayybe Zion National Park, and taking advantage of all the BLM lands! I hope 3 months is long enough to fit all this in! I'...

Sunshiny Fun In San Diego

Image
Well, I guess we've been having so much fun in San Diego the blog has fallen to the wayside. Actually, I know we've been having fun because for the first three months we were here we had friends and family visiting us every other week! That sure makes time go by fast and doesn't allow too much time for tipee-typing on the ol' keyboard. We've done a billion and a half things! It's going to be hard to only give the Reader's Digest version. San Diego is one of our favorite cities. I sat on the beach and cried my eyes out the morning we left the last time. The weather is always perfect. Even during dreary 'May gray' and 'June gloom' the temps are still superb even if the sun's not shining. There are more than 150 breweries in the San Diego area, not including all the wineries and distilleries. They even make high ABV kombucha here! Ha! I'm gonna have to get my hands on that before we leave. Don't even get me started on the food. The...

Holy hot dang! The last three weeks we have RV'd to Texas, spent a week with family and friends, flew to and spent a week in Italy (the country!), flew back, spent another week with friends and family, and now we're currently RVing back to Nashville so I can start back to work in TWO DAYS! I'm already putting it out there that I am not...NOT getting out of my pajamas tomorrow. This has been one of those breaks that was amazing and fun but extremely exhausting. We never slowed down. On the up side of things, I think I can say I've officially switched back to a normal day sleeping pattern! Woowoo! It feels amazing! Lalalalalallaalalalalalala!! We have a brand spankin' new nephew! Easton! Our first morning in back in Texas One of my best friends got ENGAGED! Did some cleaning out of the boxes. Well. One box. Let's take a moment and appreciate the bedspread, visor, I ❤️Dylan t-shirt, and Garth Brooks poster. Oh, and mouthful of cake.  Okay! So...

Vacay Time!

Man, oh, man am I so glad to have those night shifts behind me! Ryan and I have finished up our time  in Nashville and are currently on our way to the Lone Star State. We'll be hanging out in Texas visiting friends and family. Then, we're heading out of the country for the first time ever (for me)! Our good friends from college are getting married in Italy and we get to go help celebrate. After our month off we'll the be heading back to Nashvegas for another three month assignment. This time on day shift! I'm super stoked to get to know my day shift coworkers a little better and also start feeling normal again. Our last few weeks in Nashville were a blast. We did more exploring and got to show some Texas friends around town. -Barbara Mandrell's log home- It was the largest log house in the world at the time it was built in 1988. It's now owned by two of the biggest music managers in country music. They are so big I don't remember their names. Ha. ...
