The Traveling Kind

No big life decisions here, don't worry, we're not settling down or anything. I mean an ending in Denver and beginning in Thousand Oaks, sillies! We've only been in Thousand Oaks for about a week but it feels like an eternity since my last shift at Rocky Mountain Children's. We spent our last days in Denver finishing up our bucket list, drinking the rest of all the beer with friends, and seeing Kacey Musgraves in concert! We spent a day in Breckenridge seeing the mountains and catching up with an old Texas friend. Our last snowy weekend in Denver, we were dunzo with the snow. Spring had sprung! And then snow happened...and is apparently still happening. On our way to Mount Rushmore we saw signs for Oregon Trail wagon ruts and had to stop by!  For some reason or another Ryan decided to look to see how far Mount Rushmore was from Denver and it turns out it's only a 6 hour drive! Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea winds blowin'...as we sit here in traffic trying to get back to our apartment...that just so happens to be at the same exit as the rodeo. Not cool Houston. Ryan and I both had off today so we took a day trip to Galveston! We started the day on the strand, did a teeny bit of shopping and day drinking, had lunch at a great brew pub, then went to the beach!  Highly recommend Brews Brothers on the Strand I mean, why isn't drinking on the sidewalk legal everywhere?! Taffy making at La King *** Have I mentioned at all that I LOVE the beach!? Even dirty Texas Gulf Coast water where the "sand" is mostly crunched up shells. I don't know what it is exactly but I just love it. I honestly think I'd be equally as content living in a beach house in Galveston as I would in Pacific Beach, San Diego. I love the smell, the atmosphere. I love the sound of the waves and the beach town vibe. It must be something about...

Well y'all, karma got me back. You remember way back when last week when I ALMOST hit a girl on my bike ?? Well, today I was just running along on the boardwalk listening to my music and minding my own business and BAM! I get hit from behind by this guy riding a bike. Now I realize that I ALMOST hit someone while riding a bike BUT I wasn't just riding along a straight, 12 ft wide path where it was just me and the pedestrian. Really. I don't know if he was texting or what but he was going slow enough to not knock me down. So he was either texting or thought it'd be funny to hit the fluffy girl bouncing slowly down the fast side of the right lane. I know, I know slower people to the right. But there's always sand on the right side of the path and that makes it harder to run and more likely for me to slip and fall...I mean, hello! I AM one of the clumsiest people on the planet. Do I need to refer to the last post again? PLUS there are other people that run in the left...
