Boi-SEE, Not Boi-ZEE

Since before we got to Idaho we had friends telling us we just had to go to Boise. A couple of people even compared it to Austin (that was a bit of a stretch😬). So we put it at the top of our list and and we booked our Airbnb. When I say 'we' I mean Ryan and when I say 'Airbnb" I mean yurt. When he sent me the page the yurt was beautiful and seemed fun at the time so I immediately said yes. Just FYI for those looking into staying in a yurt...there are no bathrooms in a yurt. Therefore you must trek outside in sub 40 degree weather across the yard and into the far back of a garage in the dark, or at least we had to. I'm sure not all yurts are created equal. After 4 hours of driving we finally arrived in Boise around lunchtime. We had a delicious lunch at Bittercreek Alehouse and then walked around the 8th Street area. Ryan and I had to make some pretty big adjustments after moving to Idaho Falls. We went from Austin, a city of almost 900,000 people, to Idaho Falls - population: 56,000. In Austin we could eat, drink, shop, catch live music, or walk the trail next to Lady Bird Lake all within 2-4 blocks from our apartment. Here in little ol' Idaho Falls we have to try a little harder to find the fun. Sometimes that means driving a few miles to the Greenbelt along the Snake River or to Snow Eagle Brewery. Other times it means spending hours a day driving around sightseeing. Our first outings here in Idaho Falls consisted of visiting the Falls and the Greenbelt. We also walked around the little baby downtown and a nearby park.  The frozen Snake River, taken from the Greenbelt. In the background you can see the Mormon Temple The then frozen Falls-you just don't see this everywhere. I just love frozen bodies of water! Haha! Checking out Sportsman Park The side of an old hotel
