Boi-SEE, Not Boi-ZEE

Since before we got to Idaho we had friends telling us we just had to go to Boise. A couple of people even compared it to Austin (that was a bit of a stretch😬). So we put it at the top of our list and and we booked our Airbnb. When I say 'we' I mean Ryan and when I say 'Airbnb" I mean yurt. When he sent me the page the yurt was beautiful and seemed fun at the time so I immediately said yes. Just FYI for those looking into staying in a yurt...there are no bathrooms in a yurt. Therefore you must trek outside in sub 40 degree weather across the yard and into the far back of a garage in the dark, or at least we had to. I'm sure not all yurts are created equal. After 4 hours of driving we finally arrived in Boise around lunchtime. We had a delicious lunch at Bittercreek Alehouse and then walked around the 8th Street area. Thawing Out in Idaho Falls

Well haaay y'all!! Ryan and I have been busy working and playing and I've just found a few minutes to tell y'all about it. So far, so good here in ol' Idaho. I just finished my 7th week here and we've nestled in quite nicely. I'm really enjoying my job and we've made some really great friends here. We'll be so sad to leave them! So, Idaho Falls is tiny (compared to every other city we've lived in) so it only took us a few weeks to check all the "touristy" things off of our list. It -literally- took TWO days to run into someone we knew at the mall. Idaho Falls is like Temple, TX style small town where everyone knows everyone and their mama. It's been kinda fun being back in a small town. It's really quiet here, even in the middle of a weekday. We rarely hear sirens or loud drunk people making their way down the sidewalk. It's a little weird. But also nice. But also were anxious to get back to a big city! My recruiter has been u...

Made It!!

Well y'all we made it to Knoxville! And they were so kind to welcome us with some severe weather. I haven't had to worry about that since we left Texas the first time and it was pretty scary to say the least. Pearl especially hates bad weather. She shakes so hard it's visible from across the apartment. We really like our new apartment, it feels smaller than our San Antonio place but it comes with other perks like a "resort style" indoor pool and jacuzzi AND a washer/dryer. You never realize how great it is to be able to do your laundry in your apartment until you have to live without.  I would say on average this is about the size unit we're usually placed in. Ryan and I are actually the first people to live in this unit after it was remodeled, so that means new kitchen appliances, new flooring, new granite counters, and a new washer/dryer. It's a little mini one that is the washer AND dryer in the same small machine. It's pretty neat, I haven't se...
