Livin' That Desert Life

Image
Well, hey party people! I was so worried about not sleeping that I couldn't sleep! So here we are! I decided to make 2:23am productive -- welcome my blog post about Phoenix (and the surrounding areas). Initially, I thought Phoenix would just be a dry, flat desert with the occasional tumbleweed, but I was  wrong! This city is beautiful with mountains in, and surrounding, the city. There are trees galore...not really grass...but tons of trees and cacti. Fun Fact: palm trees, which are all over Phoenix are not native to the area (makes sense when you think about it, they seem like they belong, ha!). They are seriously ev-ry-where-uh. There's art all over the place too! We've visited the Heard Museum which displays Native American art and we went to many galleries in Scottsdale. Most recently we visited the Art Museum at Arizona State and enjoyed a couple of exhibits of Mexican art. We've LOVED it here! We have 6 weeks left and intend to fill it with more art and advent...

A New Beginning!

Changes! I love changes! I love cutting my hair, moving somewhere new every 3 months (-ish), reorganizing, purging, trying new places to eat, and all that jazz. I just love it. This blog has had a few different looks over the past few years but now I feel like it's time for another revamp! You'll have noticed the name change. We wanted to get more involved in an RV community that we could "travel with" and I think we've found it online. We've already gotten tons of location ideas from them and are looking forward to all the new adventures! This blog will kind of be linked to the Instagram. You might see Ryan on here from time to time - that's the only real change to any of the posts. Ha. "The Traveling Kind" is a song by Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell and it really resonated with us. I'm 99% sure Ryan cried the first time we...

Settling in Nashville

Wow y'all, what a crazy, stressful, difficult 8 weeks. The whole traveling thing is pretty dang great most of the time, but let me tell ya, it's handed us our hineys (not a word I guess) . We LOVE living in our new home but it has been a HUGE learning curve. That, along with an unplanned month off, car trouble in OKC, a dead smoking car in Little Rock, and then having to trade in said dead car and buy new used car from 5 hours away has completely maxed out my stress-o-meter. We finally arrived in Nashville the day before I was supposed to start. As it would turn out I didn't get the call to start until Thursday at noon and I went in that night for my first shift. I haven't worked nights in about three years and am driving the night shift struggle bus. The shift itself at the hospital is fine. My mind and body just do not deal. I'm surviving (I realize this is a first world problem, yes I'm thankful I have a job) but I'm sure Ryan would appreciate all the p...
