Adios, Texas! Hello, Nevada!

If you're looking for me after February 18th, you can find me belly up at the $5 blackjack tables downtown! 😆 Yep! That's right, we're headed back out west for my next assignment at Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas. Then, booking it back outta there before the heat settles in. We've LOVED getting to spend so much time with our family and friends. Some we haven't spend considerable time with in  a couple years. Leaving Texas always comes with sadness but we're so excited for our next adventure. Since we've been to Las Vegas before we're going to do our best to get out and do things we didn't get to do before. Things on the must-see list of Vegas 2.0 include Seven Magic Mountains, Lake Mead Recreational Area, Hoover Dam (I know, how did we miss this the first time?!), Valley of Fire State Park, Death Valley, maaaaayybe Zion National Park, and taking advantage of all the BLM lands! I hope 3 months is long enough to fit all this in! I'...

Hot diggity dang, y'all! I'm so excited I can't wait another minute to share! This morning I had a phone interview for my next assignment and knew before I got off the phone that I got the job. I am more than happy to announce that we're headed back to San Diego for my next contract! I loved San Diego so much that I actually cried, right there on the beach on our last day there. I love all the people I met there, I love the unit, and I love, Love, LOVE all of its beautiful beaches. I'm counting down the seconds till we leave our lovely little desert spot and head for the lush green mountains of Sahn Diahgo. I have so many amazing memories. It's hard to believe it's been over 4 years since we left. We're coming back So Cal!! (Maybe on the way there I'll magically lose 50 pounds and gain the ability to run 13.1 miles...we'll see...I'll let y'all know how it goes. It's a 6 hour drive after all. Haha!) We'll be stopp...

We're four weeks into our second go-round in Nashville. Honestly, since you've heard from us last we've been recouping from our month in Texas/Italy (in monies in the bank and hours in the sleep). So we've been laying low for a bitty bit. Luckily in Music City, there is a surplus of things to do regardless of budget. From honky tonkin' to hiking, we've been entertaining ourselves with live music, beautiful views of the city, and friends. On the work side of things I've been enjoying getting to know my day shift co-workers and the new feel of the unit. On the extracurricular side of things I've been enjoying finding new music and spending time with friends. More fun info - if you can handle it! I snagged my next assignment! (I shirt you not, autocorrect wanted me to edit to "asssignment") I swear my grammar isn't that bad. Ha! Shirt! Maybe it is! Ohhkay...in typical SWYNA fashion, here comes a photo dump and then info on our next assignme...

Denver!!

Well we're slowly but surely drinking our way through ALL the Denver breweries! Needless to say we're having a good time and Ryan's not sure if he ever wants to leave. Ha! The craft beer here is amazing! Ryan is working at the grocery store by us as a deli man so on the few days off we have together we like visiting breweries, driving through the mountains, and taking the dogs to Washington Park, a huge park with two lakes and miles of paths. We've made great friends here too! There were tons of travelers in my orientation group so we hit it off right off the bat. I love having friends to play with on my days off! We've also gotten to visit with our friends Kevin and Jen that we've known since high school. We haven't seen them in probably 8 years and we got to meet their kiddos for the first time. I love all the opportunities travel nursing has provided us in reconnecting with old friends or seeing friends we've met in a previous assignment again. Ryan...
