Vacay Time!

Man, oh, man am I so glad to have those night shifts behind me! Ryan and I have finished up our time  in Nashville and are currently on our way to the Lone Star State. We'll be hanging out in Texas visiting friends and family. Then, we're heading out of the country for the first time ever (for me)! Our good friends from college are getting married in Italy and we get to go help celebrate. After our month off we'll the be heading back to Nashvegas for another three month assignment. This time on day shift! I'm super stoked to get to know my day shift coworkers a little better and also start feeling normal again.

Our last few weeks in Nashville were a blast. We did more exploring and got to show some Texas friends around town.

-Barbara Mandrell's log home-
It was the largest log house in the world at the time it was built in 1988. It's now owned by two of the biggest music managers in country music. They are so big I don't remember their names. Ha.

The pool inside the house. Once it was bought by the new owners, the pool was covered up and it's now the reservoir for the fire water system. It had to be covered because of all the issues the moisture caused with the wood beams. It's still a beautiful space though.

Lauren and Nathan came to visit. This was our first night at the Nashville Palace.

Photo op in 12South.

Oh my gosh. This was one of the most amazing concerts we've been to. It was a tribute to Jerry Reed and all of these people were in his band, knew him, or were inspired by him. This photo was taken when they were all playing the guitar solo from Guitar Man. SIX GUITARS! It was so moving. It was even more fun because we've actually seen two of the guitarists play before. We first saw Kenny Penny play when we were in San Antonio and we see Mark Thornton play on Tuesday nights with one of our favorite Nashville bands The Cowpokes.

So, needless to say we've had tons of fun the last few weeks and we're looking forward to having tons more in Texas! We'll see y'all soon!
